Eduroam for Linux

Students who use Linux for developing in Germany could have serious problems trying to connect to Eduroam. If you don’t know what Eduroam is, it is basically a WLAN system for German student, with a valid university email you can use free WLAN in every German university.

Following are settings you will need to get your operating system works with Eduroam:

  • Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
  • Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
  • Anonymous identity: [leave this empty]
  • CA certificate: [leave this empty. No CA certificate is required]
  • PEAP version: Automatic
  • Inner authentication: MSCHAPv2
  • Username: [youremail@example.edu]
  • Password: [You university email’s password]
